ANB ACADEMY PLAYER, JONATHAN JEBBISON, OFFERED TRIAL WITH SM CAEN FOOTBALL CLUB OF THE FRENCH LEAGUE 1

April 29, 2011 (RELEASE) --

The ANB Academy is pleased to announce that 15-year old Academy Team member Jonathan Jebbison is heading to the Normandy region of France, to participate in a week-long trial with Stade Malherbe Caen, a professional soccer club participating in the French League 1.

Jonathan, will be staying at the club’s formation centre and will be training with the U-17 team for one week. Based on his performance, further invitations may be extended so that his progress can be monitored. According to FIFA’s latest regulations on the status and transfer of players, a minor is not allowed to sign for a foreign club before the age of 18. Jonathan will use the experience gained from his last trial opportunity in Wolverhampton Wolves (England) this past fall in order to perform at his best. He will be travelling to France with a junior team in the Academy, who will be participating in the prestigious Jean Pingeon Tournament in the U-13 age group at the same time.

“Jonathan has been with ANB Academy since 2006. He has made excellent progress over the past few months and we feel this is the perfect time for him to show a professional football club how he can play the game. We are excited for him and his family and we are confident he will perform well” says Academy Director, Bassam Naim.

ANB academy's vision is to become Canada’s leading soccer development organization. Its mission is to identify Canadian soccer talent, and to maximize the potential of players at any level, through professional coaching and training.
